YES! He did it! Osteopath Rob Bryson completes the London Marathon in awesome time!
Rob ran his heart out and completed the big race in a very impressive 3 hours and 8 minutes. To make it even more impressive was that he ran the second half even faster than the first 13 miles AND this was Rob’s first attempt at the marathon distance.
Prior to running on Sunday Rob outlined his reasons for running for the charity of his choice (the link to which is here: http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/RobBryson1 )
Rob said,
“I will be running to raise money for St George’s Hospital Charity, – an amazing cause even more so given how much we’ve relied on and appreciated the NHS over the last 18 months.
This charity is even more special however, as they are currently in the process of fundraising to remodel the ‘Forget Me Not’ suite in the hospital, a place for parents to mourn and spend final moments with their children in privacy after their devastating losses. Transforming this space will make a huge difference for the families who spend time there in such tragic circumstances.
Sadly, my friends Giles and Phoebe Barrett spent time in the suite in April 2018 after the tragic loss of their first daughter, Ottilie, who was stillborn at 37 weeks. They, along with a number of friends, have raised an incredible amount towards the charity so far and I would love to raise as much as possible for this great cause.
I have set myself the target of running the marathon in 3 hours and 15 minutes or better, so here it is in writing! I know this is optimistic for a first marathon attempt, but I wanted to give myself a challenge that’s going to push me throughout the training.
I massively appreciate your support and any contribution big or small – thanks everyone!”

Insisting that the post run muscle pains were not as bad as expected is great…… but he was in to see one of our fantastic Reflex massage therapists for effective sports massage therapy the morning after.
So, what may be next for Rob? “Well, after i have had a little down time i quite fancy taking on the challenge of a full ironman race.” After this weekends performance we wouldn’t bet against him, would you? In the meantime we can celebrate the fact that Rob Bryson completes the London Marathon in a fabulous 3 hours and 8 minutes!
