EXCITING NEWS…. (well exciting for cyclists anyway!) Come and join the Reflex peloton!
We are launching the Reflex Spinal Health Cycling Club (RSHCC), writes Reading Chiropractor Andy Green.
For me the last 12 months or on/off COVID lockdown meant i needed to find a new way to let off steam. The answer was getting into road cycling. After initially borrowing a bike, i then bought one from a friend of a friend. Yes, before you ask they do, just about, make road bikes big enough for me!
I have really enjoyed getting out and about, acquiring new kit, and exploring the fantastic roads around the Chilterns. My main challenge is that nearly everywhere around us requires cycling up big hills and these are still a big challenge for me. The club is really about arranging some social group rides on the road. If you have a mountain bike you can join the club, and join us for the socials, but we may have to develop a sub-group for cross-country riders!
We have designed new kit for the RSHCC. To become a member we will ask you to purchase one of the clubs short-sleeve cycling tops. These will be initially for sale for £45, and orders are placed after you have purchased them.
To join the club you must be either a current patient, practice member, or previous patient of ours. Once joined you may, of course, also add a family member or partner, even if they have not been a Reflex patient.
We will not carry excess stock. There will be no other membership fee, so once you’re in, you’re in! We have also had bib shorts and gloves designed. You can, of course purchase these, but this is not required to join the club.
Short-sleeved jersey: £45
Bib shorts (pro Italian chamois): £70
Gloves: £20
To Order Kit please email Andy Green directly on: andrew.green@reflexspinalhealth.com (deadline for 1st kit order Sunday 18th April)
Please Note: For kit sizing please see the sizing guides at the bottom of this post. As these are purchased to order we cannot accept returns, or alter sizings i am afraid.
To have fun cycling, to make new friends to go cycling with, and have 2-3 arranged group rides each year during nicer weather. The plan is that group rides will end somewhere where we can meet up, and a Reflex team member will be there with cold boxes of drinks, and nibbles so we can have a chat before heading off home.
We also plan to have two group rides each time, with a faster group (going a little further), and a slower group (no one gets left behind!). It may well be that i take up the role of Lanterne Rouge!
I would love to get an order in for RSHCC kit soon. So i would love to get orders in by end of Sunday 18th April, so i can order kit the next day. I attach sizing guides below FYI.
Come and join the club. I know i have spoken to a few of you who have been keen, and i am sure there are many others of you who have not heard about this yet. If you have a road bike, and are (or have been) a patient of Reflex Spinal Health, then you can join and we would love you to come along. Please don’t think you wont be fast enough! We have enough beautiful roads around us to explore it would be great to have a fun group to do it with. A great way to enjoy getting some exercise, to lower your stress levels, and have fun with fellow humans (when we are allowed to). So please come and join the Reflex Peloton!
